Stan Adell Bio
Stan is recognized as a computer graphics pioneer in the Kansas City area and has served in various IT and management roles. Stan’s technical knowledge and extensive experience has allowed him to conduct training sessions and seminars for many computer user groups and companies. Industry honors include articles published in computer publications and the selection of a design project included with software distributed worldwide. Stan has taught Computer Graphics and Web Design courses at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
After serving in the Air Force, Stan began his communications career in 1980 at Bendix/King Radio Corporation as Art Department Supervisor and established a successful corporate art department. Stan realized how technology was changing the world and was an early adopter of “desktop publishing,” the internet and social media. In 1986, Stan created Online Design, an innovative design studio and service bureau that was acquired by DST Systems, Inc. Online Design had the privilege of producing printed and online communications for a wide variety of clients including Apple Computer, AT&T, Allied-Signal Corporation, H&R Block, Hallmark Cards, HNTB, Ford Motor Company, Kodak, Lee Company, Sprint, American Century Investors, Marion Labs, Western Auto, Worlds of Fun, City of Olathe (Kansas), Johnson County (Kansas), and many others.
Stan was elected to the Board of Directors for the Kansas City Better Business Bureau for three years and served as Chair. He also served on the Board of Directors for RedEcho Group that provides an after-school program to help at-risk children learn to make and promote movies through a program called “Let’s make a movie!”
Garmin International
When Gary Burrell decided to implement his vision for GPS navigation, Stan worked with him to create the original logo and marketing. The new company name was PRONAV and was changed to GARMIN from the name of the founders, Gary Burrell and Min Kao. Gary’s vision changed the community and the world. With over 22,000 associates in 37 countries around the world, Garmin brings GPS navigation and wearable technology to the automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor and fitness markets.
Stan served primarily as the Aviation Training eLearning Designer & Project Administrator at Garmin International, developing and managing online training courses and resources for pilots. He retired in 2024 and continues to support this amazing company.

Since 2005, Stan and his wife, Adele, have helped families and businesses have peace of mind from identity theft and legal situations with unique services provided by LegalShield. They also help companies with business consultation services and provide comprehensive legal and identity theft plans as a group employee benefit.
Music Background
Stan has been involved in music since 5th grade as a drummer traveling around the world and recording with many bands. He enjoys playing drums and guitar, performing fun original and classic rock music. His current music project is managing and performing with Green Shoebox Band playing familiar music in a fresh way with unique instrumentation and talented friends. Motorcycle Adventures
Stan enjoys riding his Harley with friends from Garmin and church. The Garmin riders have taken several major rides including the 2019 Sturgis/Black hills ride and the 2020 Wild West Ride for 12 days through Colorado, Arizona, Utah.
